Do McDonalds Chicken peices, are they fried in bread crumbs?

or is the chicken just so deeply fried, that is turns brown and looks like its fried in bread?

The McDonald's Chicken McNuggets are coated with a bread-like batter then fried.  There are a lot of "copycat" recipes available if you search the internet.  Basically, the batter consists of flour, egg, water, tempura mix, corn meal, salt & pepper.

It's not bread crumbs, it's probably not even chicken.  Some kind of mystery batter surrounding some sort of amphibial-rodential kind of critter-meat.

Best bet: don't eat it.
