  1. The article is correct.  In terms of CO2 they emit less because they get better mileage.  However, because they generally have two-stroke engines, they don't burn the gasoline as completely, and thus have larger amounts of other pollutants.

    However, you can get around this problem by using an electric moped or motorcycle, as I have!

    So they can indirectly run on wind energy...

  4. Most, if not all street bike are four stroke, not two stroke. As with all gasoline powered vehicles, how you drive determines how much a vehicle pollutes. If you accelerate quickly, you do not burn gas a efficiently as accelerating slowly. This also affects your gas mileage.
