Do Music Ed. majors have to take marching band?

What colleges make music ed. majors take marching band?

It depends on what you are majoring in.  I have a degree in Keyboard Performance and Electronic Music.  Marching around with a keyboard would be very awkward.  If you are getting just a general music education then depending on what your school requires you may have to take marching band but if you are doing something specific like classical composition you would want classes that focus on theory, harmony and composition.
