Do Muslims believe Jerusalem is their holy land?

a quote from someone I asked a question to "they both believe Jerusalem is their holy land," he was saying both Christians and Muslims believe this. Is this true or false?

Salam for you my dear friend .Yes certainly,Jerusalem is the holy land of muslims too besides Medina,Mecca,Mina,Musdzalifah and Arafah.

Most prophets born, lived  and died in Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the holy land for the 3 big religion's followers e.g muslims,jews and christians .The 3 religions have holy houses .Muslims have  Al Aqsa mosque which was built by Soleiman prophet as the son of Dawud(David)prophet,christians have big Cathedral and jews have the weeping wall there just not far from Al Aqso mosque..In the event of Isra Mi'raj Muhammad pbuh made a night journey from Mesjjidil Haram in Mecca to mesjjidil Aqsa and then he was lifted by Allah from mesjjidil Aqsa to the hihgest skies sidratul muntaha (arasy) where Allah lives there for accepting the instruction to make salat 5 times a day.

Jerusalem is considered holy to us because that is where masjid al aqsa is, masjid al aqsa is the second oldest mosque and also the direction that people prayed in [before the qiblah was changed to the kaba]. It is also where prophet muhammed (scw) ascended to heaven. Therefore we have three holy sites mecca, medina, and jerusalem =]
