This may sound stupid, but do NASCAR drivers listen to the radio while they are driving?

I saw a video of Kasey Kahne and at the end of it he was singing a bit, and I wasn't sure if he was listening to it, or just singing the song.

  1. Yeah, they're rockin out to the sounds of their crew chiefs voices!

  2. No. It's more important to be listening to the sounds your car is making.

  3. Yes, the song is called, "Up High, Up High, Half Back To The 45, Up High, Three Wide, We Need To Pit In 4 laps, Up High."

  4. Racingradios.com is the official sponsor of NASCAR and the supplier for most of the teams communications.  No music I guess they are a little to intense to be distracted, I dont know I might want a radio in the car this sunday night that is gonna be a LONG race.

  5. you were rite it sounds stupid

  6. No music, just spotters and crew chiefs....  Maybe at the end of the race they will put on a little music, like from the crew playing the radio from the garage and blaring it into the headphones on the driver....

  7. Are you kidding? I don't listen to anything playing "Dirt to Daytona" and it's just a game. No way-I'm sure it's way too intense.

  8. No music radio, they have something like earphones in their ears, (the kind that just goes in the ears, not with the band that goes over the top of the head)  but it is for team communication. they listen to their spotters, crew chief, and can even talk to their teammates!!

  9. Yes. How do you think that they can hear their crew chief and spotters?
