I've if NFL players would support a team of their own. For example (this isn't true) that Chad Johnson is a Jets fan even though he plays for the Bengals. Do you know if any players current or retired ever really supported a team that they like?

  1. there are players out there who probably want former teammates friends and other players to do well  but not too well lol

  2. Of course they do. Brett Favre's dream as a child was to play for the Vikings. His other dreams were to squander his reputation and destroy his legacy. As Meatloaf once put it, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

  3. I would think they do. When Jim Kelly was a contestant in the punt, pass and kick competition, he told Terry Bradshaw that he was going to take his place as the Steelers quarterback.

  4. Of course they do. Football players, as kids, grow up pulling for a certain team, even though in the future they won't necessarily play for that team.

They'll naturally pull for the team they play for more, but they'll still pull for that team they pulled for as children.

    That's what I think.

  5. Yeah, as soon as they get traded to that team, they say "I have always wanted to be a __________.  When I was a child, I always followed the ____________."

Seriously, I know Troy Aikman was a Cowboy fan growing up and Dan Marino was a Steeler fan.

  6. yeah they were just normal people before getting drafted. However when your drafted you a team you automatically love that team the best.
