Do NOT open this if you haven't seen the Woman's Individual Uneven Bars Final (tonight)!?

What is up with this! The EXACT same score, and then an incredibly stupid tiebreaker! What?!!

http://www.nbcolympics.com/gymnastics/news/newsid=230935.html#tough+math

When Nastia was robbed on the vault in the team finals, I was upset.

When Shawn got robbed on the beam in the team finals, I was mad.

When Alica was robbed on the vault in the vault final, I was angry.

Now Nastia is robbed on uneven bars in the uneven bars final; I am FURIOUS!

The judging is bad, the scoring system is worse, and the whole thing is just a big mess.

What do you think?

  1. I feel the exact same way. I have been absolutely fuming during the entire olympics. I guess that's what happens with subjective scoring. SO unfair!!!!!!

  2. I agree, it not because of the new system, I think, but the inattentiveness and nonchalant judges from inexperienced countries.

because they can't use judges from good athletes countries.

  3. Any "sport" that requires judging to produce a winner is always going to be a farce, whether it be gymnastics, boxing, diving, or even ice skating.  It brings politics into the competition, and politics have no place in sport.  If there is no clear winner like a race or a game, and the winner is left up to an outside, non-competitor to pick, is it really a sport?

  4. Here is how He Kexin of China and Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin finished with the same score on the uneven bars but different medals:

WHERE IT STARTS: Liukin and He each scored a 16.725. They had identical 7.7 start values (the measure of a routine’s difficulty) and 9.025 execution scores. The execution mark is based on the perfect 10.0 scale, and is arrived at by tossing out the highest and lowest of the six judges’ marks, and averaging the remaining four.

THE FIRST TIE-BREAK: The four deductions that counted are added together and averaged. He and Liukin were still tied.

THE SECOND TIE-BREAK: The three-lowest deductions are added together and averaged. He had .933 in deductions and Liukin had .966, meaning He had .033 less in deductions—and was declared the winner

Besides, I am quite surprise that Nastia's A's mark is 7.7. Compare with China's player, her performance are lacking of flying movement.

Anyway, don't worry, Shawn must beat China team at Parallel bar.

  5. I THINK YOU ARE A SORE LOSER.
