If they let tourists in via Pyonyang airport, and have an estimated 76 other domestic airports, why don't they let North Korean citizens leave, or do they?

  1. they dont let them leave because they wont come back....

  2. They do not, there are guards at all cross points in north korea and if they tempt to cross they are more than likely to get caught and punished or even shot right on the spot and killed. although there are the lucky few who make it across to south korea and live happily ever after.

  3. Only the elite government officials have the right to vacate North Korea.  It's a closed border country for the regular citizens.  Some do successfully escape, and it's usually into China.  The ones that make it into South Korea often have trouble assimilated into this society:  many are homeless.
