It is a baby turtle not bigger than a quarter and the cage is about .5 inches by .5 inches. Would I be able to have the turtle as carry-on without a fee?

  1. If you put it inside a bag, they don't even need to know about it. It is up to airport security though. They have the right to confiscate anything they wish.

  3. why where are you planning to take it

  4. I know a guy that tried it and could not make his trip. Got all the way to check in and he was turned around.

So if you dont want to miss your trip or lose your turtle I would not try it with out checking with them.

  5. The policies vary from airline to airline.  Go to http://www.petflight.com/airlines/  They have the policies written out for you.  DO NOT try to sneak it on.  X-ray machines are designed to see through your baggage, so the animals will be seen and confiscated.

  6. If you are staying in the continential US, it would be fine. Just keep it in your carry-on... and don't make a fuss about it- ie, don't tell anyone. The x-ray won't hurt the turtle, and as long as he's secured, people shouldn't mind either.

BUT if you are going out of the continential US- like Hawaii, Alaska, or any other country, you could get a HUGE fine if caught.

  7. i dont think you can take it...sorry
