Question:

Do Opt-in Email Companies Really Work??

I recently had an Opt-in Email company (Email Marketing Innovation. com) send out an html email promo for my company to 350000 people. It was supposed to be targeted and to the US only. I only paid $49 for it so I figured what the heck. I have seen my visits skyrocket but no sales. I have a tracker on my site and it tells me where the visitor came from and what pages he clicked on. So far, it seems like every single visitor that the company has sent my way only lands on the index page of my site and goes nowhere from there. Also, I have noticed that they have sent me an large number of visitors from around the world. Are these companies for real, or are they just able to drive fake traffic to my site??? Please help me on this one. My site is SprinklerAnchor. com

  1. Opt in emails are sent as spam in most cases, and yes they are used to drive traffic to your site.

When I visited your site, I didn't see anything that caught my eye of why I would need to have this product, or even order it right away.  Try jazzing it up a tad, with some tag like "Free limited time offer! Act now"  or something in that regard.

Also, it would be nice to have some links or similiar free products or downloads.  This would be a way to get people to if anything act on the free offer of something related to your product.  So that you can build your own list to market and target.

Maybe offer a FAQ page.  Keep in mind that with the water shortages and caps they place on homeowners especially in Nevada, this might not do so well there.  However, in the midwest like Wisconsin, Minnesota I could see a demand there.

Consider offering this product to mass merchants?  It could be something that they could place near the checkout at Wal-mart, Home depot, Lowe's and whatnot.

  2. Hi Mate

I think you shouldn't waste your money for these opt in emails. You need to know if the data you are going to buy is the right data to target. I am sure that the most of 350,000 emails were from outside us.

Also i 've checked your web site and you haven't done any SEO on your web site. The best way to advertise your business is SEO or Pay per click.

    Good luck

  3. You may find that some visits are auto responders and that the site needs more answers to the question "What's in it for me?" The customer must have a value to drive them their and there are any number of ways to do this. If you would like my assistance further, please email me directly and we can explore more possibilities. I am sure I can assist you.
