  2. I would start by taking the leaf off.  Orchids only need watering once a week.  Take the pot and run it under the tap and let the flow out through the bottom.  That is enough.  They also need a special orchid feed if you want to keep them flowering and healthy.  You can get it from garden centres and it is not expensive.  Put the pot in a transparent container because they like their roots exposed to the light.  Keep it in a light but not hot place.

  3. orchids are a tropical plant so they dont need over watering, spray the leaves with water mist pluck that dead one off they like sunlight, but not drafty places not direct sunlight .

there are books on these type of plants so i suggest you buy one, also wikipedia could have more information on them .

  4. Although some orchids are quite rare most do not take to much looking after if you can provide them wih the correct environment.

Not all are from boneo, orchids are the most succesfull plant on the planet in the fact their pollen has been found on 84 million year old bees trapped in amber !.

Most do come from tropical environments but most will do ok out of direct sunlight in a warmish spot in the home. Ideally a misted conservatory but as we can't all have these orchids will do ok without.

Water about once a week and feed every two but DO NOT OVER DO IT.

Orchids do better with less water than too much so if your unsure let the it dry out before you next water it.

  5. Orchids are from the jungles of Borneo. They are the most valuable, rarest and sort after of all flowers by botanists and collectors. If you have one, you should take great care of it and consider showing it at an orchid event.
