Do Ouija Boards really work?

Question

I've heard about the Ouija Board where it was supposed to contact the dead or something. I'm confused, does it really work? And I just don't understand, how would a person use the Ouija Board?

And more importantly... it seems as if the manufacturers made the Ouija board to pique interest with talking to the dead and not because it really works. That would explain why they sell it in Toys R Us...

I agree with Sacramento Mom.. you have to experience it for yourself. It also depends if the spirit/ghost is willing to communicate with you. You lay it out and it has letters on it. You put your hand on a cup or something that can cover up one letter. The ghost will communicate with you by spelling out words/phrases.

They do attract the dead.  But they mainly attract the lower dimensional spirits which isnt good at all.  I do not know how to use one because I wouldnt dare to use one.  Most of my friends use them and they told me the spirit told them he was going to hurt them.  They freaked out.  They sell it at toys r us because they are dumb.  But the ouija board is very real.

my wife said when she was a little girl she and some of her friends and cousins played with a ouija board and she asked the board who she will mary and the board pointed to the letters   C and P guess what those are my initilas and i never met her till she was 17 freeky aint it

They sell it at toy r us because they want to make more money. I infact own a ouija board because my step dad has one. He said that over 20 years ago him and his brothers and aunt used it one night and he said he would never in his life touch that thing agian. I myself  will never ever use it because I very anti-satanic. The only thing a ouija board will ever do for you is make your life h**l with demons to help.

Ouija boards do not talk with the dead.  They sell them in Toys R Us to make money, as simple as that.  The ouija board is just a game that you can buy in most toy stores and department stores, an ordinary piece of wood or plastic or cardboard.  It is meant for two or more players so it will not work very well if you try to use it alone.  It has no supernatural powers.  The people using the ouija board make it work through ideomotor movement.  It plays on your mind and imagination and your susceptibilities and beliefs and fears.  It can be scary because the imagination is a powerful thing, and can make you believe just about anything.  Here are a couple of links that discuss ouija boards and how to use them.

No, they don't actually contact the dead.  They work through the ideomotor effect - you're moving it yourself, whether you realize it or not.  This is easily shown with a friend and a blindfold.  You can make one yourself; it's just a piece of cardboard.  They are fun for fooling gullible friends, but not a lot else.  But they definitely are not dangerous unless you manage to give yourself a papercut.  It's all in your head.

As to whether or not they work, they're a tool and how well they work is directly related to how well they've been made, what they're being used for, and how well the person using it is at operating it. The majority of the time it will just be one of your friends messing with your head. The rest of the time it will be you messing their heads.

If it's neither of those things then one of you doing it is deranged and/or deluded.

If you don't believe, then buy one and try it yourself. U can even go online and play. type in Ouija in the search area and a few sites will pop up. becareful, u might let in a bad spirit through ur computer LOL. It'll be like the movie Pulse!

The reason people play is because they try and contact loved ones that have passed away, or some, just for curiosity.

This is how to play:

Sit opposite your partner and rest your fingers lightly on the planchette (the pointer with the clear circle in the middle). Now ask your question. Concentrate very hard and watch as the answer is revealed in the message window.  Ask any question you want. Ouija will answer. "Its only a game ...isn't it?" Muahahaha. =)
