No, absolutely not. The restaurant keeps that charge, and unfortunately a lot of pizza delivery people get shorted on their tip because of it!

Keep in mind that your pizza delivery person busts their butt to bring you food while you sit on the couch. Tip accordingly....20%!!

If you're pizza delivery place adds a delivery charge, it doesn't go directly to the delivery guy.  He still works for tips.  That charge offsets what the pizza place has to give the driver for gas.

No the delivery charge goes to the establishment you ordered the pizza from.  Depending on the size of the shop (say a local shop not a Pizza Hut or Dominos) they sometimes use the delivery charge to actually pay the delivery guys wages.  You should always tip your delivery guy well.. the poor bugger has to drive thru bad traffic and c**p weather any time you feel like staying in.

No, that does not go to the delivery driver.  The store keeps it as part of the money they pay the driver for gas.  That is in the main stream pizza places anyway.  The most expensive delivery fees that family owned places have go straight to the driver.

they get a percent of it maybe 75 cents the rest goes to the establishment the driver gets an hourly pay, but they also work for the tips which they get to keep

No, trust me, the driver does not get this fee. Drivers do get paid a small amount for mileage/gas, around $1 per run. I deliver pizza and this is a common misconception.

Tipping is your choice, but please don't consider the delivery charge a tip.

No, they do not get the total amount of the Delivery charge according to one of my Domino's Pizza Delivery men.  He said that the most he got was $0.90 from the Delivery Fee.  It's based on the mileage of each trip, etc.

I usually give the Delivery person $3  and only $2 if they take too long.  Most of my orders are around $15 dollars.

No they do not. My boyfriend delivers pizzas and believe me, with the high gas prices, your tips really do help! Most get paid the absolute minimum wage and count on tips for their pay... not to mention they have to use half their money filling up their tank!
