  1. Some plants do sleep

  2. Plants absorb solar radiation and convert CO2 to O2 during the day as a result of photosynthesis.  That ceases at night and the plants consume oxygen.  Perhaps that constitutes a rest cycle.  However, plants can be grown with artificial light (hydroponics) while most people would sleep even with the lights on.

  3. Sleeping plants would require cognitive plants, which do not exist, so no.

At least, according to the human definition of "sleep," which requires a REM cycle -- Rapid Eye Movement.  But I don't know -- do plants die in winter, or do they go dormant?  Would a dormancy period count as "sleeping" for plants?

  4. No I don't.
