Do Police radar guns in vehicles only catch the cars they are facing or do they pick up behind to in Victoria?

  1. Some cars have radars in the front and rear.

    EX.  If you go 77 in a 65 and spot a cop going the opposite direction and decide to speed up to 85 and take the next exit turn to get away there could be a very good chance he would pick that acceleration up

    You ticket could go from to 77 in a 65 to felony evading.

    They also have the airplanes that track you too that won't set off any radar detectors.  Best practice is to just to slow in general.  


  2. All radars face to the front of the car - and they all will clock the vehicles approaching from opposite directions.  Some have the option of clocking same direction in front also.

    If you add a rear antenna, you can clock the vehicles behind you - same direction and opposite direction.

    Clocking to the side requires a hand held unit and the vehicle (patrol vehicle) to be stopped.

    That is moving vs stationary radar.

    I assume if Victoria has any substantial amount of roadway or a traffic unit they will have front and rear radar.

  3. They can be set to focus on the direction the operator chooses.
