Do Protein powder shakes REALLY work??

I mean seriouusly. arent they like steroids or somthing? will they really put more weight on you? how can a few powder make you grow that much bigger? can you please explain to me how they work?

  1. Yes, they really work.  They aren't like steroids, protein powder is just protein in powder form.  Next to water, protein is the most abundant substance in the human body.

    Yes, they can help you gain weight since they have calories, and depending on how many scoops of protein powder you take you can take in a lot of calories from protein shakes.  

    Protein powder can make you grow bigger because when you workout your muscle fibers are broken down.  The protein powder provides lots of protein in one scoop to give your muscles the essential nutrients to repair and rebuild those muscle fibers.  This will add muscle mass, and gains in muscle will also directly lead to a gain in weight.

    Protein powders such as Whey have extracted the protein out of milk and soy and put it all into a large bucket, so that when you take a scoop you are getting lots of protein.  This is especially optimal after workout sessions when you need lots of protein delivered quickly to your body.
