Do Royal Caribbean "cruise specialists" work on commission?

Question

Long story short- I am very unhappy with some of the shady practices that my specailists has pulled on me and I want to cancel my cruise and re-book the same cruise with another specialist. This guy is a creep and has really put a bad taste in my mouth as far as RCL goes. I do not even want to go on this cruise anymore but it is a special event for my friend and I have to go! Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry you had such a bad expirence. But don't let this ruin your vacation! Royal Caribbean is a GREAT cruise line!! The staff on board is very friendly and helpful. As for this guy your talking about I think that he should be fired. RC is such a great company I don't know why they would hire someone like that. I would next time try booking through A travel agent. They are very helpful and can get good deals. Don't let this guy ruin your view on RC if possible they are a very great company and as far as the people on the ship (staff) they are WONDERFUL and RC only hires the best for them. I wish they would rethink the person they hired. But maybe they don't know he is like this. You should call the company and talk to someone about it. They want to make their customers happy and they will do just about anything for them. I seriously would call and complain. And to answer your question yes i think they do! Have a good cruise!

cancel the cruise and find a local travel agent who will provide the service you are looking for.  correction, see if you can get the same rate before you cancel, if not, just keep the reservation and contact their customer relations to advise why you are unhappy

I have been a professional travel consultant for 10 years and hear all the time how people are unhappy with online travel agencies, tour company/cruise line reservation agents.  They have such a high turnover that half the time, they don't know what they are talking about.  Even so, dont hodl the cruise line responsible for 1 person's behanvior.  If you have traveled on the line before and not been unhappy why are you now mad at the cruise line for 1 bad apple?

YES THEY WORK ON COMMISSION, BUT IF YOU HAVE TRAVEL WITH RCCL SEVERAL TIMES THEN YOU ARE A PAST GUEST AND THEY COULD HAVE PUT YOU INTO THEIR CROWN AND ANCHOR CLUB.   I WOULD CALL THE SALES REP'S SUPERVISOR AND COMPLAINT TO THEM.  I WOULD TELL THEM THAT AT THIS POINT YOU AR GOING TO CANCEL THE TRIP AND NOT EVEN GO WITH THEM AGAIN.  IF THIS DOESN'T HELP I WOULD ASK TO SPEAK TO THAT PERSON SUPERVISOR.  MY SISTER DID THIS ON A TRIP WITH THEM AND SHE GOT THEM TO GIVE HER A "FEEL BETTER GIFT" .  DON'T GIVE UP
