When a truck signals to another truck on the highway that they are clear to move over in front of them - do they have a switch or something easier to use than what cars use to turn on and off the lights? I ask because I hate to think they take their hand off the wheel or other manuver to go to all that effort...

  1. Some trucks have a momentary flasher - either a foot pedal or button.

Others just have to take their hand off the wheel and flick the switch twice - it's not exactly as much effort as you make it out to be.

  2. Yes...its a interrupt switch to the maker ( indicator lights) they are in different places depending on the brand of truck...

Peterbilt vs frieghtliner vs Volvo...to mention a couple all have them ...the switch is located in different areas in each truck.

and there is no effort to flash a thankyou to other truckers ..and even some cars....i do it all the time.

  3. The Flashing of their lights is a Warning that their is police car a hear, or an accident,or they are carrion a heavy load move out of their way the load is pushing the truck they can't stop like a car can and if you move out of the trucks way or let them merge in your lane they flash their lights to say thank you.

  4. they hit their light switch
