  1. The Straits of Johore is dying.  All because Singapore refused to replace the causeway with a bridge. As a result the water stays stagnant. This is a 2 faced Government, on one hand they claim the straits isn't polluted knowing that Sembawang shipyard is flushing all the detergents into the sea washing those massive ships. One the other hand, seafood from fishfarms are not allowed to be sold if they are tainted with toxic wastes. I supposed these toxins swim up the fish nostrils.

For drinking water, those trace birth control medicines and hormones will take its toll 2 generations from now. I make sure I have my drinking water boiled to mitigate its effects. All these can be prevented if we negotiate with Malaysia with some sense of goodwill and good neighbourliness, instead of 'good governance' which allows a JI terrorist to escape and the whole national destiny run by powerful families. I am sure they have full access to glacier water in their fridges.

Go to our supermarkets and you get all the plastic bags you. They are not burnt polluting the air, just buried in man made islands and polluting the sea.

  2. Well just don't spit chewing gum out or you will regret it! Yes their effective way is zero tolerance which is what we should have.

  3. If you like an authortarian government telling you what you can and cannot do, and a complete lack of personal freedoms, then yes, it is very effective.

  4. The New-water project.

Recycle waste water into pure drinking water.

  5. they burn their rubbish in 'energy from waste' power stations, and have made a beautiful new island out of the ash!

  6. They do not allow private cars inside city limits, only public transportation. the result is that people travel by bus or tram, and that seriously reduces the amount of fuel used in Singapore.
