Do Taxi drivers have to wear seat belts part 2?

i was in a car crash 2 years ago and i was travelling in a private hire taxi and the driver had NO seat belt on i was sat in the front with a belt on the other car hit us on the drivers side crashed really hard in to us...so anyway the driver smacked his head off the window then off my head then his whole body slammed into the right hand side of me which broke my collar bone and upper arm also with a bleeding head...all the driver walked away with was 2 lumps on either side of his head plus a sprained shoulder...so i say all taxi drivers should wear seat belts because they course more damage not wearing 1.

as a former taxi driver its no they do not have to wear one due to safety reasons being they cannot defend themselves against anyone

Grow Up for god's sake.

There are perfectly valid reasons why taxi drivers are exempt.

And they are far more at risk from their passengers than you from they.

I can understand your frustrations and your point about the obvious injury caused to you as a result of this accident is valid.  However, the law is the law (as I've indicated in my answer to your other question) we may not always agree with the laws but they are there to be adhered to.

If you want to avoid injury from this type of thing in the future you could sit in the back of the taxi and wear your selt belt.

they do and they dont they do have to if its just them in the car but as soon as they pick some one up they dont have to weird i know but true

No they are not required to wear a seat belt while carrying a fee paying passenger
