  1. I used to worship at the church of Tesco - until I realised that the collection plate that I was putting into was funding some of the most manipulative actions that are crippliing our own farming and agriculture here in the UK.

I now spend at least 33% less by shopping at local farm shops, ignoring the seductive - but costly - BOGOF's - and buying what I need WHEN I need it.

    Vote with your purse/wallet!

  2. take your choice British Tesco or American Asda,I know where I prefer.

Supermarkets have soo much to do with minimising packaging that I think they don't know where to start!

  3. A few ppl I know have recently started going round the back of supermarkets just after closing time and taking all the (wrapped) food which has just been put in the bins home.

They live off this food now!! Tesco (et al) really do throw away tons..

I'm not sure the above is something I'd be keen to do (and I really wouldn't recommend taking stuff which is not totally wrapped up, or which should have been frozen/refrigerated), but if you think you could stomache it, it's a brilliant way to rebel against the hegemony and waste of the supermarkets!

  4. hehe funny,  good old Tesco we all hate their meathods but we still shop there lol

  5. i love tesco. er, what kind of voices are you hearing again? the world still needs food. if they give to environmental causes or whatever and they send out a pice of paper, just recycle it if you are so concerned about the environment. and dont shop at tesco! anyway, as for the club card they can target markets more effectively and less waste. or whatever.

  6. The answer is none but on the positive side they got you angry enough to get fired up about green issues. In an indirect way they helped the cause because it strengthens people like you who really do care about what is left of our planet.

    Keep fired up bud!

  7. LOL!  They have been milking the carbon thing they are doing for all it is worth.  I take it that Tesco is kind of like a UK Wal-Mart?

  8. Perhaps we should all email Tesco and give them our views on their business practices.  They are real offenders on environmental issues and the way they treat their suppliers!

It will soon be too late . Tesco is manipulating itself into a position of world wide dominance in the food market

  9. They must do

We went in to buy some coffee filter for our new machine and they said theres was 1p cheaper than Asda! 1p

  10. I know - everything that Tesco do/say is all for PR. None of it means anything.

I'm sticking with the Co-op. They are the only supermarket which actually follow through on their principles.

  11. They are their own worst enemies, the amount of leaflets I receive from Tesco and Sainsburys is enough to grow a rain forest in South America...stop sending us all this drivel and practise what you preach Mr Tesco
