Do Toyotas last longer than other cars?

Can anyone show me proof that Toyotas really are more duarble and last longer than other cars. Not some stupid forum...but from a reputable source like an independent, university study or something.

Toyota's are more expensive - am I just paying for the name and a false connotation that goes along with it? Or can anybody direct me to one reputable study that shows otherwise...
