Do U.S. athlete earn money when their win medal in the Olympic?

Endorsement don't count. Many other country athelete earn money when they win a medal, ex china athlete earn 70,000 if win gold, Afghanistan 50,000 etc..

  1. yes. For example, they were talking on tv about how michael phelps (he's awesome) is getting an extra 1 million because of a gold medal. i am pretty sure that's the gold medal and not his sponsors.

  4. they get paid for every medal they get. back in the day it was $10,000 for a gold and i'm sure its gone up.

  6. I'm not completely sure, but i've heard that in the U.S. you receive $125,000 for every gold medal you win.  Not sure if that's every year for the rest of your life or just one time.

    If it's for the rest of your life I may have to begin my journey of becoming the world's greatest Ping Pong player. Then i can retire and just chill for the next 50 yrs.
