You're not kidding! I just bought a pair of jeans and the zipper is in backward. Guess where they were made--Pakistan! Seriously though, Pakistan has been giving aid and comfort to Taliban terrorists like Ben Laden and the U.S. military is aware of it. For now, we're taking a wait and see stance until the people of Pakistan decide what they're going to do.

I think there is a lot of political corruption in Pakistan. I've never been there so I don't know for sure. I definitely know that there are a lot of wars and death which is sad, but don't you think the people rather than the terrorist groups should have a fighting chance at peace?

Your average US citizen couldn't care less about Pakistan.  Or India for that matter. Not that that is a good thing.  It's just the way it is.

EDIT:  I should have stressed "average US citizen."  I personally don't feel that way and I know others feel the same as I do.  I didn't mean to offend the ones who do, I was just making a statement about how self centered a large portion of our population seems to be.

Unfortunately USA has been giving money as well as high tech arms to Pakistan since last 30 years. And most of it goes to ISI (their Intelligence Agency) and then onwards to Taliban and terrorists. Then 50% of those terrorists are deployed by Pakistan government at Indian front and 50% at Afghanistan front. Now the US govt has realized that Pakistan is the hub of global terrorism.

Now America thinks that those Taliban which are in millions are threat to distant America, then started to fight well inside Pakistan territory a little reluctantly. Otherwise NATO and US can be there in that region for another 50 years and nothing would change. It's that religion which has brain washed millions there that would not let them choose the path of progress and modernity.

There are millions of Islamists sitting in Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Bangla Desh, Iran which hate America and are ready to do any harm to America and other Western countries for money or simply for the hateful ideology they grow with. What you are gonna do ?? Fight everywhere !! Can't do that. So best strategy is to protect your homeland and try strangulate the terrorists and Islamists financially or other strategic means. You can not fight them militarily in their lands and there is no need for it. Let them live their lives of medival age as long as they do not harm us here. If they do, take care of that ruthlessly. You can't win such wars by being hygenic and very concerned about civilian deaths by accidents.

And America does command a moral authority to intervene at selective places , countries or dictators which become a threat to world economy or have a potential to sabotage the world economy with Oil or drug money. Americans are the biggest donors for all the worldwide charities and their contribution to the world poor is the biggest as compared to any country. So they command the right and have earned it from the world body. America has never occupied any country ever like Russia has.

So I hope I have answered in my this explanation, though a lengthy one.
