  1. We don't need a passport to drive to Mexico right now, but as soon as the first of the year it will be required.  ( heard from friend)


  2. You do not need one (passport) through Dec 31. However Jan 1, 2008 everyone needs a passport including legal permanent residents.

  3. A passport is not required to drive to Mexico however as a permanent resident it is advisable to take it with you in addition to your green card to regain entry back into the United States.

  4. American citizens will not need passports to travel by LAND or SEA to Mexico until after summer 2008.. and as permanent residents, not citizens, the same law applies.  however, you should have your passports form your home countries and should go ahead and carry them.

  5. you dont need a pass port, but it will help, you do need to get a car permit $ 35 for 6 month,  and a tourist visa, 7 days or less free, or $25 dollars for 6 months, and if your not going back across into mexico in 6 month, be sure to let them take the car permit off, if you dont you cant get another one the next time
