For me, it depends. Buses seem to to well ,that's if U R going on one route or destination. But to go to multiple destinations in different parts of the city and back,it seems best best to use a car, or transportation policy is just too car oriented anyways?

  1. I do not drive my car unless absolutely necessary- job interview, need to pick up multiple packages or run other errands. I ride my bike to work and to run small errands. I also sometimes bring my bike on the bus or light rail to cut down on my travel time. Both the bus and light rail are great, but do sometimes require advance planning and a little more patience than in a car.

  2. I would prefer public transportation as long it is not like the Electric Sewer in New York City.  I have been to places where I would be on a light rail train cruising 50 MPH to our destination while having conversations with fellow travelers and learning more about the city I was in, all the while watching people sitting alone in their cars on the freeway going nowhere and making lousy time getting there due to the traffic lockup.

One of the places I live however, has the idea that public transportation is either a 40 passenger diesel powered armed robbery or an extended thumb and worn shoes.  IN that case, it is better to take your own transportation, even if it is a pink tricycle with lavender streamers and a plastic toxic horn made in china.
