Are there any discounts for URI students who ride the RIPTA to school/work? Such as....a fee for RIPTA services included in the tuition ( i think some schools do this)? Or is there a discount with a student id? thanks

  1. This is an excerpt from a longer article that appeared in the URI student newspaper this past year. I've linked to the full article below, in case you're interested.

"Eventually, RIPTA may allow URI students to board the buses for free, like how students attending some Providence schools can. Therrien said the statistics of how many students are actually using the new routes could not be determined presently because the additional routes are too new.

However, students can purchase bus passes for half price at the ticket booth in the Memorial Union, or buy a pack of 15 tickets for about $10."
