Do US customs check for prescription medicines when you cross from Mexico by land?

Im going to Mexico and im bringing my prescribed Claritan.

I heard customs dont check when you drive to Mexico but coming into US is a different story.

  1. Well, Charlie may have answered your question already about  "Claritan" but you do need to be careful bringing drugs back to the US. There are about 10,000 drugs from heavy painkillers, psych drugs to Viagra and Cialis which you can practically just walk into any legitimate pharmacy in Mexico and ask for.The mere possession of many of these are highly prohibited in the USA without a valid prescription on your person. If you try to enter the US with any of these substances and they do check you, US Customs will have NO sense of humor whatsoever!

  2. Claritan can be bought over the counter, even in the U.S. now.  They may or may not check.  But if you have a resonable amount for your personal use, you will have no problem.
