I'm a US resident and I went to Mexico a few years ago and only needed my passport. Is it still the same rules that I only need my passport? I'm going for 4 days, do I need any special visa?

  1. You will want to bring your passport even if you are only going by land.  Just to be safe because I heard as of this June you will HAVE to have a passport for land travel too.  I know you already need one for air travel.

Better to be safe than sorry.

  2. You will be given a tourist visa at the border for up to six months.  Hang on to it with your passport as you will turn it in when you leave the country.  It is a simple procedure so don't worry and have a great time.

  3. You will get a tourist card on the plane if you fly or at the border if you drive...no visa needed.

  4. No visa is necessary.  You need your passport only if flying; driving just needs driver's license and proof of citizenship (birth certificate).

  5. no i doubt it.
