  1. Do US Citizens realize that they are the cause of the high gas prices? Look around us at what we've driven since the 1950's .........big big cars. Your neighbor gets a big one, you get a big one, the folks that want little ones feel they'll get hurt, they get a big one. France, Spain, Germany (mostly) drive little cars. Asia--mostly little.

That said...we also had the technology for the hybrid, standard small cars that would do 40-60 mpg, over 20 years ago. It has nothing to do with the government..we are the people in a democracy right? If we can write here, we can write in a newspaper, to our governance and speak back to big car drivers......thus $5 a gallon for a car that would go 60 mpg isn't a big deal. Better yet the research on biofuel was conducted by a gentleman named..get this Diesel, years and years ago. Talk about a wasted technology. Mr. Diesel wanted this car to run on plant fuel from the get go.Let the fuel crisis crisis and let us finally have enough pain to make long lasting changes to our behavior. As for bombs......why not talk to the govt. over and over about the cost of a bomb and bomber versus educating folks to care about the environment versus big cars and gas........we could do alot with the trillions and trillions spend on the last 3-4 wars, excluding WWII. Think as you write and learn!

  2. Diesel is already over $5.00/gallon here in Oakland, CA.

    Nothin's exploded yet!

  3. that's what the environmentalist wackos want. we should have drilled in alaska and off shore, and built more refineries, and not have let nuclear power go by the wayside.

  4. Because they know it is only for a short time.  Everyone of these candidates campaigned on the premis that if they are voted in they will see to it that fuel costs will drop. They will actually have nothing to do with it but they do know that it will never reach $200 a barrel and hold.

    Somethings coming.

Refineries are preparing for it and the politicians know about it. My company contracts at several of the bay area refineries and they are recruiting new hires like crazy. They all have plans to increase size and production over the next two years. Not just by a few thousand barrels each either. We are talking big time increases.  Valero refinery in Benicia CA invited 880 people to test. Shell 2,200. Tesoro 1500. Chevron 3020. Why would they if they felt that fuel sales would drop out.

Hold on people we are going to get through this soon.

  5. My hubby and I think it is all for a reason, but they are not telling the public the reason why.

By the way, Canada has been paying $4.00 per gallon for a long time now.  Maybe the USA powers that be are trying to get us to that point.

OR maybe this is one way to make us all stop spending so much money and charging to credit cards.

OR to keep us off the roads.

There could be many many reason why this is being done.  The USA has plenty of oil that we have not touched as of yet.

  6. If they cared we would use the oil we drill instead of putting it in reserve and buying from somewhere else.

  7. Oil Companies are a higher priority.  They give more money to political parties

  8. apparently not...

  9. What do you really expect from a lame duck president and a congress that can't do anything because they are so partisan locked?

The Senate is deadlocked.  If the Dem's try to get something passed, the republicans filibuster and don't even have to vote (record number of filibusters this congress in the history of our country).  If the president and republicans try to get Dem's to pass something, occasionally they'll allow it through out of fear -- they are WUSSES or too corrupt to stand up for the people.

    It's sad, real d*mn sad.

  10. No they do not, because the metaphor is not appropriate.

Its already $11/gallon in countries that pump oil out by the millions of barrels... namely Holland and Norway..

It hasnt caused that kind of explosiveness there, surely it wouldnt here..
