  1. No, as long as you eat right you won't lose weight. Actually I hear more about vegetarians gaining wait when they go vegetarian rather that losing it because they eat a lot of pastas.

  2. I sure didn't

  3. I lost about 3 pounds when I became a vegetarain (I was a vegetarain for 2 years before becoming vegan). I lost about 2 additional pounds from becoming vegan. That said, I was already a very small 112 lbs to begin with. It depends on how much weight you have to lose. Vegetarian/vegan food is definitely more healthy and lower in cals and fat than meat/dairy/eggs so your body will probably naturally lose at least some amount of weight from the transition.

  4. I didn't, because I ate too much pasta.

  5. Depends on their original weight and BMI, I think.

I was able to lose that 5 pounds that I was never able to lose before by going on a healthy vegetarian diet. After I went vegan and exercised more, I lost another 5 pounds.

Vegetarian diet can = to weight loss. Here is an article related to it: http://www.vegtaste.com/main/posting.php...

    quote:

"A scientific review in April's Nutrition Reviews shows that a vegetarian diet is highly effective for weight loss. Vegetarian populations tend to be slimmer than meat-eaters, and they experience lower rates of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and other life-threatening conditions linked to overweight and obesity. The new review, compiling data from 87 previous studies, shows the weight-loss effect does not depend on exercise or calorie-counting, and it occurs at a rate of approximately 1 pound per week."

  6. Well, I lost 20 pounds in 2 moths by becoming vegetarian.

  7. No. I became a vegetarian 3 years ago and I didn't notice any weight loss (I was 17).

  8. No, just because you are vegetarian doesn't mean that you are perfectly healthy. You could eat oreos and lettuce all day and that would be very unhealthy for you, the person would have to exercise, eat right, and do healthy things for their body no matter whether they are vegetarian, vegan, or if they eat anything else.

  9. My husband lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks (but he also quit drinking alcohol when he went vegan).

  10. I lost about 5 pounds because I stopped consuming meat and dairy milk which was highly fattening! But I am at the perfect weight and healthier as ever!

  11. It depends. if you are a vegetarian AND have a maximum of 1200 calories a day, then you will lose weight after some time.

If your just a vegetarian, but not keeping track of your calories, then it depends. If your eating 24/7 ( over 2000 calories a day ) then you will gain weight. If you have 2000 calories a day, then you will maintain your weight. 1200 calories a day, and you will loose weight.

I lost about 5 pounds in 3 weeks from being vegetarian
