  1. Is it full of fruit or blossoms? If so they are after food and you should ignore them. Is there a nest hidden in the tree that something disturbed. If so stay away from it.

  2. well they swarm towards small insects and animals coz if they surround them their body heat fries their enemies

dunno if theyd swarm at a person though but my guess is yeah coz they'd be scared and protective and theres safety in numbers

  3. They do not swarm like Honeybees, but they do fly around their nest to protect it.

If you've seen a lot of them near a particular spot, it is probably because they have a nest close by.

If you do NOT harass the wasps they will NOT bother you.  Wasps do not care about humans.  They only want to find food, raise their young, and build and protect their nests,

Wasps are very beneficial to our world and help keep it healthy and strong.  They keep things like spiders, grubs, and caterpillars under control.  As adults, they do not feed on these animals, but need them to provide food for their developing larvae.  They are great spider hunters, and you can see wasps hunting all the time as they flit here and there among plants and flowers looking for spiders.

  4. If they are flying around the tree most likely they are foraging on the buds.  Unless you find the nest there's not much that can be done.

  5. Yes, wasps do swarm ........ but just because they swarm isn't a bad thing ....... they often swarm when they are feeding off of the pollen from trees and feeding off other insects ....... theay also swarm when when they are mating ........ wasps aren't normally aggressive insects ....... they are very protective of their nests and they also tend to be more aggressive during the late summer months as their main food supply (pollen) decreases and they are forced to go after other foods like your picnic lunch for a food source ...... the rule is that if you leave the wasps alone, they will leave you alone ....... = )
