  1. When I sailed in Jan. 2008 they told me I would need a passport, so I went and bought them for our whole family. But now they have changed it where you only need a passport card.

  2. No

    LAND AND SEA TRAVEL

The following summarizes information available on the Department of Homeland Security’s website.

    CURRENTLY:

U.S. citizens need to present either (a) a passport, passport card (available in spring 2008), or WHTI-compliant document; or (b) a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.

    LATER:

On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI.  The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have a passport, passport card, or WHTI-compliant document.

  3. NO- Final passport rulings are simple... if you are a US citizen traveling TO and FROM the same US Port (like a 7 night cruise from Ft. Lauderdale and back) will NOT be required to have a passport... only a birth certificate and drivers license.  You can see the link on my site below.... Of course it's always BETTER to travel with a passport in case you have an emergency and need to fly home -  .....

  4. Yes.

  5. I am pretty sure all you need is your birth certificate and I.D.

  6. yes of course

  7. If traveling by Land or Sea, until June 2009 you can visit Mexico with a government photo ID, and proof of citizenship - birth certificate or naturalization papers.

After June 2009, a passport or the new 'Passport Card' will be required.

  8. Yes, you will be leaving the USA so you need your passport.

  9. yes....

  10. Yes you need a passport.  Most cruises now require you to have a passport for cruises.  I had to have one for the Celebrity Cruise Line cruise I went on.  They wanted my passport number before my friend could bring me with her.

  11. yes , if your going anywhere besides puerto rico

  12. It's hard to say because the requirement continues to be a moving target. As of today you will not need one as the new expected start date for sea travel to Mexico is June 2009. If I were you I would just get the passport and not take the chance.

  13. Yes, you have to have a passport to leave, and enter the country

  14. You need a passport to travel to ANY other country now. Even Mexico and Canada.
