  1. As evidenced by is 16 total and 14 gold medals...I'd say so, but he's young yet and has potential to be greater.

  2. If you were basing it on simply winning gold medals I'd say yes, but I think that the title, "greatest Olympian of all time" should be more subjective. That said I don't know much about most of the athletes or their personal or public lives and contributions. Michael seems like a good guy though and I'm proud of him and glad to see him showing some  humility and humbleness.

  3. No but he is great. The best Olympian of all time in my opinion is Jesse Owens during the 1936 Olympics. He just showed up Adolf Hitler in Berlin . Also Carl Lewis is much better.

  4. Jesse Owens...

  5. He is the most prolific Olympian of all time.

  6. Have you ever heard of Jim Thorpe? Look him up.

  7. I believe he is, because he is performing great, is still relatively young, is shattering records and bring attention to a sport that most people ignore, plus the fact that his best stroke is the butterfly, which to most is their weakest event.  The fact that he makes the butterfly looks so graceful, easy, and elegant is a testimony to his skill, if you ever watch an untrained person do the butterfly its like watching a fish flopping in an inch of water its just not pretty.

  8. no

  9. What he did in the Olympics is really amazing but I also think that the media is really hyping him up.  As for the "greatest Olympian of all time"?  Well see.  He still has time.

  10. In terms of sheer FACTS... he has won more gold medals than any other person in Olympic history... therefore in that sense he is the greatest...

If you want to stick your own opinion into the matter... then I'm sure many people will say he is not...

  11. Greatest swimmer in Olympics, yes.

    Greatest Olmypian, no.

It is unfair to consider  number of medals only because of different nature of sport. Many swimmers can participate multiple events, but this will not happen in other sports.

Great Olympian should be like someone who can still compete and win beyond their prime. Just like the 33 year old German lady who won a silver in women vault final last night.

  12. No...he's just the most popular right now.  Plus he kinda has that weird, dorky cuteness about him. He can teach me some strokes anytime...hehe

  13. Not of ALL TIME, but I have to admit, he is amazing though...

Not to mention GOOD LOOKING LOL.
