Yes, I do.  Russia and China are expanding their militaries only because they are trying to keep up with the US.  I think voluntary disarmament on our part would prove we are serious about seeking peaceful relations.

It is always a mistake to have a weak military.  It leaves us vulnerable.  I would rather have a strong military that no one wants to mess with, than a weak one that wouldn't discourage those who aren't satisfied with what they have and feel that they need to take somebody else's.  History has shown that it has happened repeatedly and will continue to happen.  What do you think would have happened in the cold war if we had reduced our military to parade ground entertainment?  A lot more of us would be speaking Russian right now.
