I was just wondering if any of you have noticed a famous person/celebrity in public? Do you approach them or is it best to leave them alone?

Like in a restaurant or a store or on the street? Have you approached a celebrity before?

  3. We saw members of Bon Jovi in a hotel with their security people.  Richie Sambora's room was right next to ours and we didn't even know it until we called down for room service and the people asked if we were with them.  We were all huge BJ fans (this was in the early 90s, but we still are!) and were talking about it in the hallway on the way to get some ice. He must of heard us, because he came out and signed anything we could find.  My sister was so worked up, we needed to get her inhaler out of the car.  She was going on and on, wheezing, and giggling, so when the doors opened, I told her to cut it out and pushed her into the elevator, and right into Tico Torres.  He was so sweet and told her just to breathe and asked if we needed help.  I managed to get some words out that hopefully made sense to him.

When we came back up, we asked a security guy if we could just sit in the hall and watch them leave and they told us yes, after Richie came back out and said "What are 4 girls gonna do?".  So, we sat and waited.  They came aound the corner, Richie introduced us, we shook hands and off they went.

I don't think I would have approached them on my own though.  I'd be too nervous.

  4. If I were to see someone on the streets that is famous, I would probably leave them alone.  I can't imagine not being able to go to a restaurant without being hounded all the time.  Plus I'd probably be so tongue-tied that I would look like a blubbering idiot.

  5. no, I wouldn't & haven't.  I'm sure they a bothered enough without me adding to it.  they have a right to privacy, too.

I live not too far from where John Travolta lives in Florida.  saw him once in WalMart (of all places).  watched while he danced with some of the cashiers in the front of the store.

  6. leave well alone......

  7. i dont really care about celebrities so i wudnt do anything

  8. I would do a little wave and then go back to what I was doing before I saw them.

  9. Nope, if i see em it'd be cool, but they have their own lives so i wouldn't be the crazy psycho fan that HAS TO touch, look or whatever to them.  They ain't givin me money, they don't know me, nor do they care...they're just people with really cool jobs.

When you live in San Antonio you'll probably bump into some of the San Antonio Spur players, I saw Malik Rose at a movie theatre once...was kinda funny cause he practically towered over some of the customers at the popcorn stand.  Then I took Stone Cold Steve Austin's order at Mcdonalds, I didn't even know it was him until he left and someone was like "dude that was STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN" Guy had some huge hands though.

Aaaand I've seen Barrack Obama (deployed so i was there when he was doing his visits), but didn't make any effort to approach him, other people where too busy trying to eat with him and also I was thinking me trying to approach him would get security shoving 10 inches of baton in my no-no spot.

But nope, really wouldn't care unless I bump into them somehow and have a casual conversation...like i would any normal person that wanted to talk.

  10. Absolutely not.  That's tacky and rude, not to mention an invasion of their privacy.  Unless they are there just to see fans, you leave them alone.

They're entitled to their private lives, too.

  11. I wouldn't. They need their privacy too. I would think that they would want to be left alone.  Especially if they are trying to disguise themselves.

  12. Nope! They want to have peace like anyone else. In fact I saw a celebrity over the weekend. My husband nudged me discreetly and I looked then we continued walking down the street. No biggy...

  13. maybe not.

  14. no way.. dont want to look like an idiot.. they r just human & need there privacy

  15. If they are outside in public I like to say Hi!  I also like to deliberately mispronounce their name!
