  1. yes the climate is changing...it is a fact which should not be taken lightly or to panicked about.

but not everything that is said and talked about is true. And the change is slow and negative for now. The climate change cannot be seen all of a sudden like rain for  an hour and snow fall for another hour and extreme heat. The changes you should observe for should be reasonable and not like comparing the temperature of your city that day and the temperature on the same day last year. I think one should not realize the situation as just a big hype and if it is not so, then others will follow the preventative measures or work towards a positive change and by you just not doing the same will effect anything. But you will see the effect over the course of time and not immediately. well I do not suggest to become paranoid about climate change that it is too late to make small preventative changes and start living in stone age. But try to bring in a change among the surrounding people and your community which should be positive. Well I for one when doing my 1st semester engineering degree I planned about planting trees in and around my city and taking the help of my college mates I collected small amounts of money from most of the willing students which made enough money to buy 350 saplings. And got help to plant them all !  That made a difference cause most of them helped in getting the plants and even helping to plant. I made it a part of our college fest so that it could be successful and we got good response.

A little change can make a huge difference--and it all starts with us as individuals. As Buckminster Fuller said, "If the future of all human civilization depended on me, what would I do? How would I be?"

  2. No

  3. I think we should always remind people to what the alarmist have said about "global warming".  We should hold them responsible for their predictions.

And when their predictions fail to come true, we should remind the public of these predictions, and instill on the public that these alarmist are only trying to scare people, that they know that what they are saying will never come true.

The Earth isn't warming because of man any more than we will run out of beer and resort to cannibalism.

  4. to say that climate change is not happening would be a lie, the climate on the earth has always and always will change , some of these people have it in there mind that it just came about all of the sudden, and it did not , nore did man cause or have anything to do with the earth changing , nore can we stop, or slow it down . you have to think along time ago the contanents were all together and now they are not, there are citys under the ocean they are discovering all the time , and one you can obviously see  is the grand  canon . so if the earth were never to change i think we would be in a mess

  5. No

    Yes

  6. yes i do beleive everything about climate change..and i do think it's actually happening becuase for my senior project i had to do my project on global warming and that has everything to do with climate change.

  7. No. for example, i dont believe what i read here, and i check out the provenance, reliability, method and timeliness of any links provided and information in them.

Yes. anyone who looks beyond their front door can see evidence for it.

  8. Atom is a good example of what results when you try to scare people with rhetoric.  Some people get scared.  It is better to educate yourself then fear the latest scaremongering from the left or whatever source.  There are always predictions of gloom and doom.  In this case, as a geologist, I have studied formations formed from the rising and falling sea levels.  I have witnessed changing environments in subsequent layers.  Climate change is normal and not human caused.  It is possible humans are affecting the climate, but it is very insignificant and will likely remain that way in spite of predictions of gloom from the usual crowd.

  9. No, I certainly don't believe everything I hear about climate change.  There is some really stupid misinformation out there.  However, I know climate change is actually happening, and humans are causing it.  See the link below for an explanation of how we know this.

  10. No,Most of it is exaggeration-especially the unproven AGW theory. Yes, I believe it is happening and is a natural event.

  11. The climate is constantly changing due solar cycles and weather cycles on earth. Why does everybody think that right now, in this specific time period, we have the perfect global temperature? Climate change is not a bad thing.

We humans are a very small part of this planet and can do nothing to alter the changes. The Earth has been around long before we got here and it will be around long after.

  12. This planet has never had 6 billion people on it, never ever before. We consume several times the resources, and the weather patterns are spinning out of control. But realistically people have to start dropping dead on the streets before anyone will listen. Yes it is real, hugely real, and you will see the climax of this ignorance within your lifetime.

  13. Nope, i don't believe them. Notice all the record lows this year, snow in the desert if Iraq and all over the middle east.

Hurricanes were predicted to be through the roof b/c of warming and i didn't see one. (also record hurricanes predicted this year). Its all a bunch of c**p designed to scare people into giving $ and control to the governments of the world. The science is basically lies and very unproven.

The Earth my have increased slightly but so has the sun's output of heat as well as every other planet in our solar system has seen temp increases.

It has nothing to do with us, only our $ and control of our lives.

  14. No. I think that the earth just goes in cycles in terms of temperature - we're heating up and one day we will cool down, maybe have an ice age. I dont really have any scientific training or that, its just my beliefs.

  15. I believe in climate change, and that we are in a warming period, however the affects of it I find difficult to accept.  I also find it difficult to blame humanity on climate change, by doing so we delude ourselves into believing we change the natural cycle of climate.    My biggest problem is the money involved, if you really want to know what is happening follow the money.

  16. No I do not believe everything I hear about climate change.Do I think its happening? Yes,but it is a natural cycle we humans are just lucky enough this time to witness it.Do I believe in global warming? NO it is a man made term to get your support for a world government and your money a fraud,I do not support it nor will I ever. The term implies its warming around the globe which is not true, only in some parts of it so therefore its not global, however all climates will change in due time.We can and do only speculate what and where and how as we truly don't know we weren't here and there's are no records.Computer models are not accurate because they can only go by info put in to get a result,we all know that can be changed to suit anyone .Should we worry? no it will be what it will be.Should we conserve and stop waste where we can ? yes always. We should try to live in harmony with our earth its the only one we have but we should not be herded around like cattle and follow every ill advice out there or live in fear of the sky falling. That's my opinion.

  17. The popular press has become much like the tabloid press of the supermarket tabloids.

The function of the popular press like the tabloid press has become a function of entertaining people so that the publication can maximize the profit that the publication makes for the shareholders or investors who own the publication.

Generally the way to make the most money is to make up the most extreme frightening story that you can think of.

Scary stories get the attention of the public. In the arms race of the popular press each publication fights for readers by trying to invent a more frightening set of stories than the competition.

Competition from the internet has increased this competition for attention of readers and viewers by astrinomic propertions.

Accurate information is no longer an important function of the popular press. The popular press is made up of the newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations.

The profitability of tabloids such as the National Enquirer and right wing entertainment programs (as opposed to information programs) such as Rush Limbaugh, has tempted virtually all of the popular publications to hop on board the entertainment bandwagon to some extent.

Even the stodgy New York Times, Time Magazine and Newsweek magazine have joined the entertainment bandwagon to strengthen their balance sheets.

The result is that material that you read in these publications, hear on the radio or see on the television is no longer reliable.

For a reliable source of information regarding an issue such as Global Warming it is necessary to go to professional peer reviewed scientific literature.

An excellent place to start is with the IPCC reports. That is the reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

You will find that if you read those reports you will get a picture that is much different than the paicture that is being painted for you by the popular media.

You will get a much more clear and much more accurate picture of the state of man made Global Warming than you will get from the popular media.

I recommend that you read the IPCC reports to get an accurate picture of the state of man made Global Warming.

The short answer is do not believe everything you hear about Climate Change and yes Climate Change is actually happening.

  18. I'll defer this one to Ben Franklin:

“Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.”

  19. http://www.numberwatch.co.uk/warmlist.ht...
