  1. I believe it is both.  The world goes through long cycles of climate change and there is nothing we can do to stop that.  But, I also believe man has accelerated the change and is responsibility for a lot of damage through pollution, destruction of the ozone layer, deforestation and over population.

I believe people spend too much time on focusing if it is or is not, or even what we should call it, rather than what we can do to stop the above mentioned problems.  If we stopped all the problems, would we still see climate change, of course, but we may slow it down or even change where global warming occurs.

  2. Both!  There is a certain amount of climate change that is natural.  You can look back into the geological time scale and use paleoclimateology to show the climate has changed.  However, the part we have to worry about is man made.  Temperatures really changed after the industrial revolution.

  3. man made!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I believe it's man made because man invented cars, factories and all the objects that produce the greenhouse gases and destroyed the ozone layer that protects the earth from the harmful rays that come from the sun and so 95% of the harmful infrared rays are kept inside the Earth while 5% of them leave.

And the greenhouse gases are responsible for keeping these harmful infrared rays inside the Earth.

If cars and other objects were not invented today, the hole in the ozone layer would not be made and we wouldn't have to worry about these things today and Global Warming would not exist...

  5. You did not really think that we could release all of the CO2 ever sequestered by plants over billions of years and at the same time wipe out much the forest and plant life on the planet and have there not be an effect did you?  Before plants no animals could live on the planet, and when animals have chopped down enough trees, burned enough fossil fuels, and grazed enough grasslands animals will not be able to live here again.  Common Sense if you ask me.

  6. It's neither a yes or no. The debate among scientists (and yes, there is still a debate no matter what Al Gore say) is to what extent mankind is contributing to it, as opposed to natural fluctuations in the earth's temperature. Here's some websites for the skeptical side:

    http://www.climateaudit.org/

A scientific website with a skeptical view of manmade global warming

    http://www.crichton-official.com/

Michael Crichton’s official website--there are several speeches and essays he has written on the subject.

For the less skeptical viewpoint, try

    http://www.realclimate.org

That should give you some balance.

In addition to reading Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth", I would recommend "Cool it! The Skeptical Environmentalist's Guide to Global Warming" by Bjorn Lomborg, a former member of Greenpeace.

  7. I believe that global warming does exist, is it all caused by man or just accelerated by man is the debate. i have read that scientists think that we are causing it, but I do believe that the earth has gone through many warming and cooling periods through out its life span that its almost impossible to know for sure. the only thing we can do is to change our behaviors and pollution and see what happens. It could be that we are in a mini Ice age, as some believe and melting ice caps and other signs are normal. The concept of global warming is tricky, some people where I live point out that the lack of 100 degree days proves that GW is a farce. My belief is that it doesn't  mean that it going to be hot all the time, but at least where I live in Nebraska our change of seasons have become much more volatile between spring and summer have been more frequent and stronger and winter storms winter and spring have produced a lot of snow, more than I can remember. I hope that this at least some sense.

  8. Totally natural.  Man can't change the climate in any way.

  9. I think it is a combination of them both see the earth goes though periods about every 500,000 to 1,000,000 years of cooling and heat it is a modest 1 to 2 degree change but that changes a lot it affects the rain patterns   and the jet stream flow turning some places to deserts and others to a rain forest but combing that and green house gas emissions it become a situation that even earth it self is having trouble handling.

  10. I believe 100% it is man made. We don’t care for the next generation even for our selves.

  11. I think it's man made.

  12. i believe is man made, because with all these trains and factorys giving out gas and stuff that causes global warming, it cant be natural.

  13. Anybody who thinks global warming is man made is an absolute idiot.  Our CURRENT warming cycle has been going on for thousands upon thousands of years.. while humanity has only been heavily industrialized for about 60 years. ( On a side note, we experienced global cooling for about 50% of the time we've been heavily industrialized ).

The question is how much impact, if any, mankind plays in the process.  And there simply isn't enough data to know that.

  14. Man assisted!

  15. everything on earth goes thru a cycle that helps heal itself and the fact that so many communities and open areas are literally melting away shows that no matter how long spring and winter lasts, its just not enough - thanks to our factories and cars.

  16. Both

  17. The temperature data is some very old City temperature readings. The thermometers back then would be lucky to be within 2 deg F. The data is just not that accurate.

  18. Possibly both but mostly man made.

  19. Natural and it stopped except for fluctuations about 1940 before the spike in Co2. This is NASA data that has been corrected in just the last year because it was found there were major factual errors in the posted data. So far only US data has been corrected and NASA has publicly stated that the international data is as badly corrupted with errors as the US data was. It is now publicly posted by NASA that the hottest year of the last 100 was 1934 and that 5 of the 10 hottest year were before 1940.
