The last time I watched the olympics proper was when zola bud ran barefoot.

No matter what the country there's always too much money spent on it, people suffer but they say it's good for the economy. (Is that what you mean by being ashamed? sorry if I'm not clear, very tired)

No I would not be ashamed. Watching the best athletes from around the world is nothing to be ashamed of. The fact of the location has nothing to do with the games. Just keep politics out of it.

Busy bee I'm glad that you are not my mother. To censor your own children by stopping them watching some of the best athletes in the world is crazy. All you are doing is wrapping them in cotton wool and stopping them having an opinion of their own. Just because you don't want to watch the greatest games on earth does not mean you should pollute your children's minds Things like p**n and foul language yes but sports never. You should never blame athletes for the faults of their government.

I try not to place sport and politics into the same basket.  

I am supporting the athletes, not the participating country's governments  and the unfair/inhumane policies of some of these country's.

I am not watching them, or any TV....

The games are a waste of money & the human abuses to their own people are disgusting.

Olympics should go back to like Ancient Greek times....not a lot of money spent & people ran in barefeet & it was all sensible.

It's not about sport now, it's all about money, plus the steroid thing puts me off. {I used to be into sport a lot, & was sporty myself, but now it's all rubbish.}
