Question:

Do You Feel That Your Opinion On Israel Is Related To Your Opinion On The War In Iraq?

Obviously this is only for people who HAVE opinions on both Israel and the war. I keep hearing that Palestine-sympathizers are against the war and Israel-sympathizers are for it, but I've met about 8000 (exaggeration, obviously) people who support Israel and about three who think the war was a good idea. And none of those people have stated an opinion on the conflict. I'm wondering if I just know unusually liberal people, since the pro-Palestine=pro-Iraq generalization makes sense.

  1. No, I don't see the connection.

  2. no

in my mind there is no connection

but i see many posts from muslims who find the iraq war a convenient excuse to criticise israel......because of its links with the US

but mainly it is just an excuse to criticise israel - it is bigotry and hatred of non-muslims mainly (but that would make them look like bigots so they pretend it is political)

  3. I just think its a difference between peaceful people and non-peaceful people, some think that a gun will solve all problems and others believe that communication will. Where has the Iraqi war gotten America?

  4. Curious connection, I'm not quite sure what you are looking for.I support Israel, I also support the Iraq war. Both for the same reason, Israel is surrounded by hostile nations and faction who are quite literally sworn to the destruction of Israel. Iraq, was for years ran by a ruthless leader who killed hundreds of thousands of his own people. He needed to be eliminated. We are still there after the fact because we need to teach the Iraqi People a new way of thinking or a new tyrant will rise in Saddams place. So I guess you could say I support the fight against aggression, kinda a oxy-moron.

  5. No and the only connection I have found between Israel and the Iraq war is oil.

  6. No.  I am not for or against Iraq.  I feel it is wrong to launch a racist, colonialist war against people of a different faith.  It is wrong to do so for the sake of economic and political gain, lies about weapons, lies about support for militancy and an old legacy of a former President's failure in foreign policy.  Egoism and power plays are not good reasons for war.  The oil industry and the companies buying out contracts stand to gain a lot by it so there is also a motivation factor there.

I am not for or against Palestinians but do support a homeland for them free of settlements, the occupation, human rights abuse and with opportunities for refugees to return to Jordan/West Bank/Gaza or other countries who accept them (NOT ISRAEL).

  7. It is for Al-Qaeda, they constantly try to link Israel and "Jewish interests" to the war in Iraq, to make it sound like a global struggle.

I support the war, and fully support Israel.

  8. yes I do.

The American foreign policy in the Middle East is influenced by 3 lobby groups.

    The Israeli Lobby.

    The Oil Lobby.

    The Military Complex Lobby.

All of the 3 lobby groups benefited from the Iraq War.

All of the 3 lobby groups are calling for Iran War next.

The only losers in this war are Iraqi and the American people.

  9. I'm all for kicking the snot outta al qaeda and offing saddam but the iraq war is a horrible mess. crashing economy, countless lost lives, instability...all for oil.

  10. Hi Sophia,

My opinion about Israel has nothing to do with my opinion about the war on Iraq.  As far as I am concerned, they are two separate issues.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Miche ; })
