  1. Hello BJ,

The flute you are asking about is nothing you want to waste time or money on.  It is a No Name Brand piece of poor quality metal tubing from one of the 3rd world Middle East countries.... which they sent over here to make a profit on from people who know very little about the brands of good flutes.

As a teacher, I am obliged to know the best brands out there for my students and for the parents who are trying to get their child the best flute they can.   I, then, feel obligated to warn you against what will wind up being thrown under your bed... or better than that... in the trash can.

I don't know what you call a good deal...  but brand new good quality beginner flutes cost around $600.00.   So if you are finding a flute for $129.00... you can count on the fact that the manufacturer is making a nice profit.... so the most the flute costs to build is $20.00 and maybe less....What kind of a good flute do you think you can buy for $20.00 brand new?????  Think about it.

So there are many of these imported junky flutes on the market for cheap prices...  You get what you pay for.

If you are asking for an honest answer about what flute will be good for you and last several years... look for the following brands, either new or USED. :)

    Yamaha  -----   Gemeinhardt  -----   Pearl  -----   Emerson  ----  Armstrong  -----   Artley   ------   Selmer   -----    Selmer Bundy.

That gives you many choices.  These instruments are better made and easier for repair people to fix if something does happen to go wrong.   With those junky flutes.... there are no parts to repair them here in the USA.... or in Europe if you live there.   They only come imported with the flute and case.... no parts.

Hope I was able to influence you not to waste your money on any of these imported no-namebrand flutes.

    Thanks for reading
