My beautiful husky Maya ate slug pellets tonight and we don't know if she will make it. I had bought "pet repellent" pellets, not so much for our dogs as they have a run, but for anycats or wild-life in my garden She was in her run for 30 mins and jumped into our green house through a part with a missing pane. The gardener hadnt noticed and had put them there thinking it was safe. She must have jumped in got the unopened thick plastic container, chewed it open and eaten about a third of the pellets. \she began to stagger and shake uncontrollably . we thought she would die before we got to the vets. Once there she was made to vomit, put on a drip, force-fed a charcoal solution and sedated. By this time she couldn't stand. It was terrible..I was crying and my husband was trying not to. We wont know for 3 days if she will make it because it can take that long for her liver to fail. The vet said it was up to Maya now to fight. She is a strong, brave, stubborn husky..still young (she is three) so we are hoping she will beat the odds. .
You can see her here http://www.petchamp.co.uk/show/?id=530A1...
Or go to www.petchamp.co.uk..search for huskies and go to last.
So please, please be so careful with slug pellets I don't want anyones pet to be going through what Maya is suffering
