I have heard a lot of people hating on Don West, and i just wanted to know why.

I can't stand him.  His voice is so irritating.

I've grown a tolerance to Don West.  I've accepted him for what he's supposed to be, an excitable boob to represent the fans.  That's exactly what the Jarretts hired him to be, some naive guy who knew little about wrestling.  They wanted a genuine reaction, and that's what you get from West, along with a 5 year old's understanding of how a move works  For instance, instead of calling a piledriver, Don West would call it like this; "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!  HE JUST PICKED HIM UP AND DROVE HIS HEAD ALL THE WAY DOWN THERE!"  Is this a good analysis of what's going on?  No, but Don West isn't a play-by-play guy, he's color, so technically, he really doesn't have to know what's going on, he just has to get us excited about it, and sometimes he succceeds, but most times he comes off like a raving lunatic.

But to boil down to the meat of the question, since it's understood that I understand West's role, do I like him?...well, with a knowedgable veteran of the commentary table like Jim Cornette sitting in the back doing nothing, I'd have to say no.  I'd rather him take Tenay's place actually, and put someone that's entertaining, like that waste of space, Kevin Nash behind a microphone and let him get over doing what he's done his whole career; winning over fans with his mouth.

I don't like him because his timing is off. For example, when Sting, Joe, and Nash were in the ring and Jarrett's music began playing; instead of acknowledging it he just kept incoherently yelling about Joe getting beat on.

I run hot and cold on Don West. Sometimes I like him, because he sounds genuinely enthused by the action thats going on in the ring. Other times, he can get quite annoying with his over selling of action. So, I can't say I like West, but I don't hate him either. I'll give him this though. He does okay for a guy who came into the wrestling business from the home shopping network not knowing a l**k.

No,i hate their commentator.He has no wrestling knowledge,he speaks loudly and is bad in talking.Tna should replace him with foley

I dislike West 100%. He does not seem to know how to call a good match.  He does not have good chemistry with Mike Tenay, I would rather listen to Mike Adamle call a match then West...

He's tolerable at times.

I think people overrate color commentary anyways. Regardless of that, Don West is on and off with me. Sometimes he is tolerable and then other times he's annoying to hear during a match. Then again, all commentators are like that for me in Professional Wrestling, even Jim Ross.

Well first of all I don't hate don west but when it comes to him and announcing he sounds horrible. He screams when spot is called, he doesn't learn how to shut up when wrestlers are doing promo's, but on the good side I would rather hear him then mike Adam.
