Do You Miss All-Court-Serve and Vollery Tennis?

It was a sign of the times. Wimbledon center court, down the tee, was totally green because nobody comes in any more to serve and volley.

Baseline bangers. Women and men. More or less a junior game with grown-ups.

God I miss Sampras.......!.

While the serve and volley game is great to watch, with todays power, and returns,  it is quite difficult to come into net after ones serve.  Which is why we continue to see the baseline all chewed up and the area by the net not as much. Sampras and Naratilova were the best serve and volleyers. Personally, as a leisurely player I love the baseline and dread going to net, only when needed.

i miss serve and volleyers quite a bit. i don't miss Sampras, though, to be honest because he served mostly and kinda only volleyed when he had to. i prefer someone more like Guy Forget, who served and volleyed with finesse rather than power. those were more interesting. or a chip and charger.

I really do. Especially at wimbledon with the new green clay..I mean... grass. I  want to see more variety especially serving and volleying. I don't want to see players playing from the baseline. It's boring and we just saw 2 weeks of it at the French open.
