I understand sponors help pay for sports. But somethings should of been left alone with no coporate name on it. I feel the same about a lot of the NCAA football bowl games, like the Rose Bowl, as well.

  1. The only way to stop the machine is quit fueling it.

  2. I don't miss anything because the races and the bowl games are not any different now than they were before due to the name change.  Of course other factors may have changed in the game or race but it had nothing to do with the name.

  3. Southern 500...

    Firecracker 400...

  4. and point being

    money is money

  5. I know, it's not even the same. I miss the gool ol' days. The Southern 500, Firecracker 400, why are they no longer here. I'll be angry when they change the Daytona 500. Why not keep these names and say something like the Southern 500 presented by Mountain Dew. Charlotte Motor Speedway now the Lowe's Motor Speedway and has been for awhile. Sorry, I went back and read answers and I did something similar to someone before but it was before I read answers because I went back to recheck my answers Now I see you said something about Bowl games, I agree. Why not call it the BCS National Title Bowl and say presented by Tostitos and the Music City Bowl presented by Gaylord Hotels instead of Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl. Maybe they could say the Brickyard 400 sponsored by Allstate if not presented. It's not like Allstate won't have commercials to advertise during the race.

  6. Racing (even Nazzcar) was something worth watching back in the day. They weren't sissies like they are now. Take a look back to see how it was in the 60s.

  7. When did they QUIT racing at Talledgea

  8. I'm with you here.  F1 has races like The British Grand Prix and we have the Hardees 250.  Its sad that we have to sell out our sport to this degree.

  9. Yes I do. Why couldn't it at least be the Talladega 500 presented by Mountain Dew AMP and the Brickyard 400 presented by Allstate if they can't be known by their original names?

  10. Yea. I was thinking about that a while ago only it's with  baseball stadiums. Same with California Speedway.

  11. No, it was good back in the day, and it would be nice if we new the race name or even the sponcers these days like it used to be, but they have to pay more than what we do to put gas in those NAPCAR's or NASTYCAR's or whatever you want to call those foriegn looking COT's.

  12. No...i like that the race names are sponsored ...gives attention to the product or corporation.

    Good business!
