  1. What flooding are you referring to?

If you mean in England today, it has nothing to do with global warming. It was the gale-force wind system that caused water to breach coastal defences, and of course heavy rainfall.

Increased global temperatures can increase flooding due to:

    - Higher rate of cloud formation (more rain)

    - Rising sea levels

    - Possible increase in storm activity as oceans warm

    - Melting of glaciers and other ice stores

    - Disturbance to ocean current systems bringing stormy weather

Similarly, increase global temperatures can cause drought, as people relying on ice stores for water will not be able to get ample water supplies.

  2. YES, WE HUMANS HAVE AN AWFUL LOT TO ANSWER FOR!!!!

  3. yes  sure it is!!

  4. global warming probably helped, but it isn' the main cause

  5. I would say a bit of both.

  6. There's no way to know for sure.  Even without global warming the weather and climate on Earth changes a lot.  Global warming will just make it faster and worse.  It's not something obvious like if a car wreck was caused by rain or not.

  7. no not yet it will be a few more degrees till that

  8. No I don't. Years ago the water authorities used to dredge the river beds every summer which obviously deepens the river bed. Since the water companies were privatised, this practice stopped because it costs money and the more money they spend on operations like that, the less money there is to go into the shareholders pockets. We have always had floods in this country but not on the scale we have them now simply because the rivers cannot take the volume of water for those very reasons. Then of course we have the problem whereby the government encourages building on known flood plains. Who in their right mind would even contemplate buying a property on a flood plain? Then of course, if people didn't buy them then the builders would stop building them in such stupid places or face bankruptcy.

  9. yeah i think its just that time of year

  10. "Global warming" is a term  that should be thought of as more unstable unpredictable weather conditions.      Spring is normally a time for heavy rainfall, and being that the ground is frozen in many places, the water runs on the surface instead of going downward.  Plus the fact that rain is warmer than the snow on the ground, speeds up the melt of the snow which just adds to the surface water flow.   Yearly event, dependent on how heavy and long the snow fall has been.      Something you should ask old timers about....or check weather records back to the 20's to see if it has been as heavy.

  11. no

this is natural we are getting closer to the sun all the time and if you are that bothered why are you on a computer wasting electric

get in the real life you hypocrite

  12. No, it's from dumb as.ses building homes on flood plains without providing adequate drainage.

  13. Where I live in Ireland this usually happens every 10-15 Years. There is the Spring Tide which is higher than normal coupled with a Feroscious Storm which Trundles the Wave Water in on the Coast specially in areas wher the Coast is low lying. Normally when the Weather is mild there is no Wind to cause the Flooding. But when the Spring Tide combines with Storm Force Winds it causes Flooding. There have been some Spectacular Floods  in recent Years away from the Coast because of Heavy Rains and Rivers Bursting their Banks as well. It is hard to say if it is Global Warming, but we have had a few Violent Storms so far this Year. This is something for the Statisticians  to work out at the end of the Year if Global Warming is the cause.

  14. It is a fact that our weather is becoming more vioent and flooding will occur more. Global warming has already begun and still some people do nothing to halt it's progress.

  15. i think its both ... ;o)

  16. global warming started

  17. I do because the rubbish and fumes that go in the air travel to the sun causing the air to get hot and that melts the ice in the north pole so that the water levels rise making the water go on land.

  18. Global warming doesn't exist anymore.

  19. yes. if AMERICA and many other countrises including us just work together to try and sort something out then maybe we would not have all this bad weather.

  20. I don't remember hearing anything about 3.0 litre gas-guzzlers back in Noah's day.
