steroids aside i think the greatest homerun hitters of all time are Babe Ruth Willy Mays Mickey Mantle Hank Aaron Ted Williams those guys did it against way better pitching todays pitching isn't very good as it was back then and now i bring in the steriods facter these guys hit all those homers without using performance enhancing drugs i mean yes it was fun watching Barry hit all those homers but he shouldn't have used steroids to do it i think Barry has a tanted record and it takes away from what those great ball players accomplished

  1. No barry Bonds is no homerun king. It was always be Henry Aaron to me untill A-Rod breaks the record and becomes the new homerun king. A-Rod would earn it. Bonds didn't he is lyer and drug user.

  2. even if he was on steriods, you still have to be able to play the game of baseball. its not like you can put a guy on steriods and put him in baseball and hit homeruns. Barry Bonds is very talented and deserves to be the Homerun King

  3. Bonds deserves.........NOTHING!  His career, including his bogus home run totals were chemically enhanced.  I agree with your listed baseball greats.

Anyone who would let someone else sit in jail (Greg Anderson) to hide his own indiscretions concerning steroids and HGH should be in jail themselves.

  4. Come on. Put it to rest. Barry Bonds even if he was on steroids. In fact, allot of the players since the 70's have been on them not to mention in the equation of all of the pitchers who were on the juice when Bonds hit home runs against them. Everything is relative and he was the only player to truly perfect the home run swing down to a science. Love him or hate him......he was d**n great!

  5. Yes he does deserve it because he has the most home runs. Now should there be an asterisck, that is a more interesting discussion. (I say yes to astericks btw).

  6. In this day of sky high gas & food prices, the possibility of Bammy as Prez, war on every hand, no health care, Bud sold to the Belgians......

    .... who gives a P***k

  7. Hank Aaron is still my home run king and my single season HR champ is still Roger Maris (lets be honest, Bonds wasn't the only doper- McGwire and Sosa both were).

  8. personally, i think in the future the truth will come out that barry was a steroid user, and worse i think most people associated with baseball and especially associated with him know that he cheated...but until they can prove it, it's hard not to give him the title, although in the court of public opinion he will never be accepted as the king anywhere except for san francisco

  9. It's interesting what stories and lies the fake fans, haters and bandwagoners enjoy fabricating when mentioning the HR "Leader", Barry Bonds.

    They say that he's:

a "cancer" (he looks healthy to me)

"distraction" (what celebrity or athlete does not attract media coverage.....)

has "baggage" (I would to if I travelled as much as he does)

is a "disgrace" (no shortage of rumps in seats and turnstiles being hit at ballparks)

"ruined baseball" (baseball is not all about Barry Bonds or steroids)

is "mean" (I met him more than once, and he's down to earth and not conceited or mean at all)

but they don't know anything about the whole truth other than what the media brainwashed them with.....

I had the pleasure of meeting him at work (EA Sports), my neighborhood (San Mateo/Foster City, CA), during afterparties, private parties and All Star Game festivities and in the locker rooms of Candlestick Park and AT&T Park.  He signs autographs freely, shakes everyone's hand, treats everyone with respect, takes the time to chat with you, does not walk around like he's God and is a nice person, if you don't listen to the media and actually get to meet him!

Only the fake fans, haters and bandwagoners will claim that Henry Aaron, Roger Maris or George Herman Ruth are still the HR "Leaders", but that's only because they don't know the history of baseball and can't count due to being uneducated.....

Steroids will not give you one bit of an edge in baseball because it ruins your eyesight so that you cannot see the catcher when pitching or cannot see a pitched ball.  It damages your muscular, nervous and skeletal system to make them weak and you need power to play baseball.  It makes your muscles too tight where you cannot pitch a ball or swing a bat properly.  It also ruins your psyche and makes you paranoid and angry where you cannot wake up on time to go to the ball park and perform your job correctly on the field of play.  Most of all, if Barry Bonds was an abuser, he'd already be dead from suicide or symptoms of steroid usage.

He was a "user", but on a casual level and also by way of prescription when he was injured.  Who cares?  It's his career, his life, his body and not for jealous people to judge him just because he's rich, talented in baseball and set for the rest of his life!

  10. He has hit the most home runs.Every era has it's pitfalls.

  11. Home Run King with *

  12. he is and will be until A Rod or Pujols break it.  I also think he should be recognized as one of the greatest to ever play.  Nothing has been proved to make us think anything else.  His numbers before and after speak for themselves.

  13. No one can admit Barry is good. If he was on your team you would feel the same way Giants fans feel. When he was thinking about returning and coming to the Yankees, you guys were going nuts! "Were gonna have A-rod and Bonds". But when A-rod passes Bonds your gonna say he used steroids too.

  14. The only place Barry Bonds belongs is in rehab

  15. well wether or not we think he deserves it, he is and there is nothing we can do about it.

  16. I'm not a big fan of any player breaking or bending the rules for his own personal achievements using banned substances.

This was a case of a "talented" guy using a substance to aid and prolong his career. With that being said, I will give Barry some credit for being the home run king.  HGH or no HGH he still had to put the bat on the ball and hit the ball out of the park which he did 73 times. He also did it being walked a MLB record "177" times playing in 153 games. He could have possibly hit 80+.

Had Barry been less of a jerk during his career MLB fans more than likely would not have come down on him so hard.

As for now he's the tainted record holder of a beloved record that fans hold dearly. Just look forward to the day A-Rod and or Pujols breaks the record.

  17. How do you know what the pitching was like back then? Did you bat against any of those guys? I didn't think so. Barry Bonds should be forgotten. They should make him change his name to Cheaty McCheaterpants.

  18. ****************************************... thats all i HAVE TO SAY LOL ****************************************...
