Question:

Do You Think I Can Make It As A Actor?

I'm 14 right now, and I don't have any acting experiences, except for acting classes, and little plays when I was little. I don't think I am super pretty, but I'm not ugly. I think I do have potential, talent wise, and I love acting so much! I don't really care about being famous, but I do want to get roles, and my main interest is TV shows, and I just want to know how are my chances, of acheiving my dreams. My mom doesn't really support me, and she's really busy, so even if I get an agent now, which I want so much! I won't be able to go on the jobs, that I would get. So I just want to know, what should I do to have a better chance of achieving my dreams, as I said earlier. I don't live in a big city, but I'm planning to move out, when I go to college, and hopefully get in UCLA, but if there's better acting college, please tell me. Thanks! =]

  1. OMG OMG OMG! you are exactly like me, my dream school is ucla and i was just looking that up before i went on this site, and also i LOVE acting and i am 13! weird stuff man, but anyway yeah i think you can defidentally make it!

  2. yes u can! u got to believe in yourself. think what u can do not what u can't! hope i help ^_^

  3. I have played in an well amount of plays, and I would suggest playing in musicals on stage tell your 16 and can get a job.from there just browse the web and search for movies or shows you would enjoy acting in.

  4. if you can dream it, you can do it!

If you work super hard and never give up, then you can achieve your dreams. Determination is a key factor here, if you're really dedicated you can't give up if it gets too hard. Just keep struggling through!

Work on honing your skills and becoming the absolute best actor you can. Show you have real dedication to your work, as directors like that. Work on your versatility, as most directors don't like someone who can only do the one role and that's it.

Audition whenever and wherever you can, for stage-work or extras. Experience is everything.

And hopefully one day you'll get your big break!

edit: you shouldn't worry too much about not getting any far right now, as you are very young. Wait until you're a little older. Agents generally don't like taking on anyone too young as it is a risk and is fairly restrictive with work hours and safety etc.

I suggest you take up writing. A lot of actors are also screen writers, and no wonder. It helps you connect with a character, and their decisions and quirks, which can help your acting. Write from all different perspectives to gain an insight into all different types of characters and their individual 'voices' Good luck!
