Im 16 years old and Im going into my sophomore year and I have already been named the starting tight end on my team. I beat out two seniors for it. I am 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds. I catch the ball well. I dont really drop balls, every once in a while I have one. I block alright. I just need to get the technique down. Here are my times..

40-Yard Dash: 4.81

Short Shuttle: 4.39

3-Cone: 7.38

Vertical Leap: 31 1/2"

Broad Jump: 8-9

Bench Press Max. (1 rep): 175 (I had an elbow injury but my bench press has gone up 20 pounds in two weeks since I got cleared to lift.)

Squat Max. (1 rep): 370

What do you think?

  1. well ur numbers look good but it really doesnt matter. U could be that fast and athletic but u might not be able play the game. For scout they really look at ur tape more than anything else. The numbers u have there just are there for a security blanket for scouts. U see the top player this year in high school matt barkley, he has never done drills at a combine-40, shuttle, nothing. He only the football drills and has a good tape. Thats what really matters not ur measurables.

  2. I highly doubt it

  3. just say your prayers and eat your vitamins

  4. like that one guy said, you need to grow an  inch and gain some weight. your squat is very good, but your bech needs a bit of help, but i give you credit because you got that injury.just make sure you make a highlight tape of your playing your jr. and sr. seasons at least.even if ou dont get any offers, you can take the juco route for a year or two or you can switch positions(becuase you have to be pretty dang tall to be tight end, around 6'4-6'7, maybe you could get away with a 6'2 or 3,iff  your good enough.)

  5. In order to play tight end in D-1, you really need to be at least 6'5". So you better hope that you grow a few inches, and put on some weight because 210 pounds is not going to cut it for a pass-blocking tight end.

  6. Work hard on your upper body strength and speed

  7. Yeah just work man.
