Do You Think There's A Correlation Between Ethnicity And Dogs?

Question

I've know this is a generalization, but I do see this a lot.

Blacks - Pit-bulls, Rottweilers

Mexicans - Chihuahuas, Pit-bulls

Whites - Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Pomeranian

Asians - Shih Tzus, Pugs

Old White Ladies - Poodles

And all the stray dogs in the hood look exactly alike, lol!!

Anyway, what's your favorite type of dog? I prefer Dobermans!

I think German Shepherds are the best looking dogs. We grew up with a solid black one. Do you remember the movie the Doberman Gang? Those dogs were sharp too.

You are doing well with the generalizations.

But, I will say that in the inner city a lot of black and whites have the pitts and rotts.

Native American and I just love a retriever - of any kind, Goldens, Labs, Doodles, Newfoundlands, Chesapeake Bay, etc.

I just love their personalities.

My mom is a Native as well, she prefers small yappy terrier types. My husband is white, he loves border collies and spaniels. My best friend is half Mexican, she loves huskies and German shepards.

Overall in general, maybe you are onto something, but in my own experience, not really.

I'm mixed and I have a Rat Terrier, American Bulldog and PW Corgi but I have to admit I do see that alot

I prefer Siberian Huskies

Well lets see

I had a German Shepherd that passed away last october. I loved that dog so much. I also have a pitbull and for show I have a yorkie/miniature doberman pinchser. I dont know where I fit in them categories.

i like wiemaramers cuz of their silver coat and ice blue eyes. for little dogs i like pomeranian they are cute and cuddly. and its mostly the "thugs" could be of anyrace that like to get pits and rots. i used to have a mutt half german shepard half black lab that dog was the best smart and loyal and beautiful i miss him.

im certianly NOT a pit bull or a rottwilers.. id probably be more of a pug dogg gentel and sweet and yes i am black.

I like cats more, i have 1 at home already.

my german husband has always had dobermans and his brother still does.  my mexican aunt and her french husband have had many dobermans as well.

my daughters german father used to breed boxers...a great dog, bytheway.

my dutch friend has a yorkie and a sheba inu.  ike and nona are black and love shih tzus.   but i will say......i think all the labs i know are paired up with my white friends.  

there's this large dark beautiful black man at the beach and he's always walking with his beautiful white dog.   they look good together. it looks like a german shepard, but pure white.  maybe one of those alaskan dogs.  i'm gonna ask him.

Most white people have Pits and Cur dogs where I live. Pits are good catch dogs for hog hunters.

My favorite type of dogs are Black Mouth Cur, because their smart and fairly easy to train.

I wouldnt agree with your generalizations. As a Black person, I know more AA dog owners who have dogs other than pitbulls or rotties, the people I see with those dogs are typically YOUNG MEN posturing, I have friends that own the gamut from toy poodles to mutts to dachsunds to mastiffs. So, no I dont think it's a direct correlation.
